Camper Hire - Terms & Conditions

  1. Insurance
Comprehensive insurance is provided for one driver during the hire period for travel within the UK. All drivers must be between 21 and 75 years of age, with a full, clean UK driving licence that has been held for a minimum of two years. Drivers outside of this age range, or those with penalty points on their licence, must notify us at the booking stage. Additional drivers can be added at an extra cost of £50 per hire. All payments must be made from the named driver’s bank account or card, and the hire contract must be signed by the named driver.

Travel outside of the UK is not allowed unless agreed upon in advance.
A £1,000 insurance excess is payable by the hirer following any incident involving damage to our vehicle or a third-party vehicle.

  1. Documents Required
Four to six weeks prior to the start of your hire period, we will request your driving licence details to perform an online licence check. We will also require two proofs of address from different sources.

Insurance criteria:

  • Online licence check (for UK mainland-issued licences only)
  • Two proofs of address from separate sources
  • Cleared, traceable security deposit (BACS, credit/debit card, PayPal, etc.)
  • Signed rental agreement

From August 1, 2021, Green Cards are no longer required for driving in the EU. However, you must ensure that you arrange a VE103 certificate for any vehicle taken abroad for less than 12 months.

Additional criteria:

  • Drivers must meet specified age limits and have at least two years of driving experience (Full UK or EU licences; AU and NZ licences are accepted, subject to a £500 excess).
  • Two minor convictions (e.g., 2x SP30, 3 points each) are accepted without referral.
  • A single six-point SP30, SP50, or CU80 conviction is accepted subject to a £1,000 excess. Offences with more than six points require referral to insurers.
  • No more than one fault or unresolved claim in the last three years.

  1. Booking Procedure & Payment
A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking if the booking is made four weeks before the hire date, and this deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due four weeks before the collection date.

A security deposit, either £500 or £1,000 depending on the vehicle, must be paid on collection. The deposit will be held until the vehicle has been returned and inspected. If no damage is found, the deposit will be refunded within one week.

The hire contract and payment terms are non-negotiable and will be binding upon booking. Payments can be made via Debit/Credit card, PayPal, or bank transfer.

  1. Cancellation Charges
  • More than 4 weeks before the hire: The deposit will be retained. If we can rebook the hire period, we will refund your deposit minus a £25 admin fee.
  • Less than 4 weeks before the hire: 100% of the hire cost is non-refundable due to the short notice.

We reserve the right to modify the cancellation policy for certain events.

  1. Motorhome Collection
Collection is available between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on the day of handover. We strongly advise you to thoroughly check the vehicle and ensure you understand how to operate it before leaving our premises.

You may park your vehicle at our site during the hire period, but we accept no responsibility for any loss or damage.

  1. Vehicle Returns
All motorhomes must be returned between 9:00 am and 11:00 am on the agreed return date. Late returns can severely impact the next hire and will incur an additional charge of £45 per hour. The insurance cover provided ends at 11:00 am on the final hire day, and any incident occurring after this time will render the driver uninsured.

Upon return, we will inspect the vehicle for damage and cleanliness. The vehicle must be returned with a full fuel tank, emptied toilet cassette, and clean interior. Any discrepancies may result in deductions from your security deposit. We reserve the right to withhold an appropriate amount from the deposit for repairs, cleaning, or damages. Motorhome repair and cleaning costs are available upon request.

Should any damage occur during the hire, repair costs will be deducted from your deposit. If the repair costs are less than the £1,000 insurance excess, no insurance claim will be made, and any remaining balance from the deposit will be refunded to you.

  1. Breakdown & Accidents
Our motorhomes are serviced according to manufacturer guidelines. Roadside assistance is included for travel within the UK. Should a breakdown occur, please contact us using the emergency details provided at handover.

In the event of an accident, the safety of the hirer and their passengers is the priority. Emergency services should be called first, followed by notifying us of the incident as soon as it is safe to do so. All details of those involved must be recorded and reported to us. A first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and fire blanket are provided in the motorhome. Please inform us if any of these items are used so they can be replaced.

We advise all hirers to arrange personal travel insurance.

  1. Pets
Pets are not permitted in our motorhomes unless prior permission is granted. Any evidence of pets in the vehicle without permission will result in a £200 charge for a full decontamination by a third-party cleaning company.
  2. Seatbelts

  3. Fuel, Oil, Gas & Other Consumables
The motorhome will be supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be returned in the same condition. Failure to return the vehicle with a full tank will result in a charge for the cost of refuelling plus a £5 admin fee. One full gas cylinder is provided with the vehicle, and the hirer is responsible for any additional gas needed. All gas cylinders must be returned with the vehicle, and failure to do so will result in a charge for a replacement cylinder plus a £20 admin fee.
  4. Mileage
A maximum mileage of 2,500 miles per week is included in the hire. Any additional miles will be charged at 15p per mile.
  5. Events Beyond Our Control
In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as mechanical failure or damage caused by a previous hirer, we may need to cancel your booking. In such cases, we will offer an alternative vehicle (if available) or provide a refund. We cannot accept liability for compensation, costs, or expenses incurred due to such events, but will endeavour to resolve the situation in line with our refund policy.
  6. Your Responsibilities
Hire periods can commence on any day except Sundays, with a minimum hire period of three nights. All vehicles must be returned between 9:00 am and 11:00 am on the agreed return date.
  7. Suitable Persons
We reserve the right to refuse to hand over a vehicle to any person we deem unsuitable. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
  8. Your Responsibilities as a Hirer
  • You are responsible for the security of the vehicle throughout the hire period. The vehicle must not be driven off-road, except for access to campsites. Should the vehicle become stuck off-road, recovery costs will be the responsibility of the hirer.
  • You are liable for all fines, charges, and penalties incurred during the hire period, including parking and speeding fines. A £35 admin fee may be applied for processing such charges.
  • You are responsible for the vehicle’s keys. Lost keys are not covered by breakdown services, and you will be responsible for the cost of replacement keys or locks.
  • You must not sell, rent, or dispose of the vehicle or any part of it. The vehicle remains our property at all times.
  • The vehicle must be kept in a roadworthy condition, and any faults must be reported immediately to us.
  • You are responsible for using the correct fuel. Misfuelling is not covered by breakdown services, and you will be liable for the cost of repairs.
  • Overhead damage (damage above 4 metres) is the hirer's responsibility, as well as any damage to tyres, windscreens, or punctures.

The motorhome remains the property of our company, and we reserve the right to repossess the vehicle at any time without notice if the terms of this agreement are breached.

  3. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be settled in the courts of this jurisdiction.
  4. Severance
If any part of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified or removed, but the remaining terms will still apply.
  5. Entire Agreement
This document represents the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior agreements, discussions, or arrangements.
